Mission
Statement
My Goal
I'm hoping my song "Go Seahawks"
will help fire up Seahawk Fans again, and prompt them to
buy tickets and support our Team! This doesn't seem to be
a problem right now, since we are on a winning streak, but
that can't be counted on ... so I'm contacting local Radio,
Television, and Newspaper personalities to encourage them
to play "Go Seahawks" and let the public
know they can dowload it FREE from www.SeahawkSong.com
.
If I'm lucky, maybe the Seahawks will
want to use parts of the Song in some of their future Marketing
/ Ticket Sales / Commercials, etc. and hopefully consider
compensating me for it's use / rights / etc.
I'm also hoping that the "FAN
CHANT" can be used at our Stadium when we really
want to fire up the crowd . . . Sort of like the Seahawks
Custom Version of "We Will Rock You" by
Queen . . . but original to just one team - the Seahawks!
So the more people that hear the song,
the better my chances are to approach the Seahawks with
it. So download
the song and tell your friends about it. Go Seahawks!
About
the Song
|
This song is written for the fan that used to be,
to let them know that their frustration was not alone,
and let them know that it's time to forgive and quit
"Behring a Grudge".
Below I've included a Song StoryLine to give more
insight to each of the verses. The song's verses describe:
1) the "Good old Days", 2)
how "Things began to Change", and
3) the day that
we'll get back our "Fan Security"

I remember the Good old Days
I've been a die-hard Seahawks Fan
since their 1st year in Seattle. What they lacked in experience
they made up for in creativity.
I remember their first time on Monday Night Football when
they turned Howard Cosell into a fan with innovative play
calling. The fake field goal by Effren Herrerra was executed
flawlessly, and Howard would refer to the team from then
on as "The Exciting Seattle Seahawks".
The coaching style of Jack Patera
was bold, and Seahawks were truely exciting to watch. They
had to throw the ball, and Jim Zorns' favorite target was
wide receiver Steve Largent. We didn't really have much
of a running game, but that would change in 1983 when we
brought in Chuck Knox as coach. He quickly implemented his
"Ground Chuck" offense, relying on Curt Warner
to carry the load. All was well untill Curt tore his ACL
in the first game of his second season. It didn't look very
promising . . .
Surprising the football world, the
Seahawks overcame all odds that year with the combined running
efforts of Dan Dornick and David Hughs. Dan could also catch
the ball and was used for clutch 3rd Downs with great success,
and was given the nickname of "Dr. Dan" (he's
a doctor now). The Seahawks had a 12-4 record that year,
and was One Win Away from the Super Bowl!
Life was good when the Nordstroms
owned the Team, and there was a waiting list to get Season
Tickets!
Then things began to Change
During the 1988 season the
Nordstrom's sold the Team to Ken Behring, a California Developer
who proceded to name his old friend Tom Flores as the new
president and general manager. The plan was to get more
deep passes, and get away from the "Ground Chuck"
offense, and add more excitement to the team. There were
alway disagreements in coaching philosophy and it showed
in their draft picks . . . Tom had experience as head coach
with the Oakland Raiders, and named himself as head coach
of the Seahawks in 1992. There were 3 quarterbacks
used that season, none of which were any good. The next
year they used the 2nd pick in the draft on Rick Mirer to
guide the new offense, but that didn't pan out either.
In an attempt to fix the mess, Dennis
Erickson was brought in as the new head coach in 1995. He
had been highly successful coaching for the University of
Miami, and had some success with the Hawks. Any success
was foreshadowed when he was arrested for drunk driving,
which added more controversy to the team. Everything was
falling apart.
During this time Ken Behring was
waiting for a $100 Million tax proposal to remodel the Kingdome.
It was voted down, and Ken decided to move the Team to California.
The moving vans were at the Seahawks' facilities, but at
the last minute a court order was issued to put the move
on hold. Paul Allen offered to step in and moderate the
injunction.
Finally - Fan Security
In 1997 Paul Allen took over
ownership of the Seahawks. He brought in Mike Holmgren to
straighten things out. It's taken a while, but the hard
work is starting to pay off. We have a new Stadium, a new
quarterback, a new defensive coordinator, and a new GM.
Most of all, the team has a new Attitude, and is overcoming
adversity to find a WAY TO WIN close games!
Last year (2004) the Seahawks were
picked by at least 3 major publications to go to the Super
Bowl ... that didn't work out, but it was the start of gaining
respect on a national level. This year, we have the best
record in the NFC and are poised to make a run at winning
it all, without all the expectations of the media ... the
team seems happy to just keep winning!
The boys need your support, and
If you don't come back to watch the Seahawks this year,
you might miss something special. Things are looking good
this year, and now we even have our own Song - Go Seahawks!
